The Sports Medicine for Students symposium features various aspects of sports medicine which may be encountered in the care of athletes and those participating in athletic events as presented by a wide variety of medical experts and physicians.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify signs and symptoms of a concussion.
  • Discuss the use of ultrasound in the evaluation of injury.
  • Describe the role of a primary care physician in sports medicine.
  • Discuss the mental health issues that athletes face.
  • Describe the initial evaluation of the injured athlete.
  • Discuss the anatomy and surgery for ACL injury.
  • Explain the goals of rehabilitation after an injury.
