Andrew Porter is a graduate of Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine Residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship at Via Christi in Wichita Kansas.
Dr. Porter then moved back to Iowa and practiced rural family medicine in Bloomfield, Iowa. He also had the honor of serving in the United States Army as a field surgeon in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In 2011 Dr. Porter accepted a position with Ascension Via Christi as Faculty for the KU School Medicine-Wichita Family Medicine Residency and Sports Medicine Fellowship and serves as the sports medicine fellowship program director, the Director of Osteopathic Medicine for core osteopathic medical students at Ascension Via Christi and is a Clinical Associate Professor at KU- School of Medicine.
