Biography

Dr. Jennifer Rogers earned her Ph.D. in Exercise Science with an emphasis on cardiovascular physiology from the University of Iowa, where she also completed training as a postdoctoral scholar and fellow. She holds an M.S. in Kinesiology from Kansas State University.

Her early research examined sex differences in vascular regulation and cardiovascular responses to exercise, later expanding to the study of physiological markers associated with disordered eating in women. More recently, her scholarship has focused on physiology education-specifically, how undergraduate students learn complex physiological concepts, the role of self-efficacy in academic success, and national initiatives aimed at defining best practices in undergraduate physiology curricula. She has published in Advances in Physiology Education and currently serves on its editorial board.

Dr. Rogers is an active member of the American Physiological Society, the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). She is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and holds the Exercise Is Medicine® credential.

At the Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Rogers is a Professor of Biomedical Sciences (Physiology), where she teaches physiology and serves as course director for foundational courses in the pre clinical curriculum
