Before joining the KansasCOM team, Vogt spent over 3 decades at Newman University as a faculty member and academic administrator, teaching over 30 different courses in mathematics, statistics, information technology, and history. He served in several administrative roles at Newman, including chairing the Division of Science and Math from 2014 to 2024. Participating in STEM outreach programs for high school students that often targeted underserved populations was a highlight of his time at Newman. Vogt has also worked as a program reviewer for the Kansas Department of Education.
His professional interests include linear algebra and regression analysis.
Outside of work, Vogt enjoys family activities, smoking and grilling, golf, fitness, and Civil War era history.
