Biography

Dr. Hemric holds an earned doctorate in Neurobiology and Behavior with a minor in Genetics and Development from Cornell University. She also has earned Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Biology from Sam Houston State University and Texas Christian University, respectively.

Her primary experimental research has investigated neural circuits involved in the sensory processing of communication signals in African electric fish, neural development in zebrafish and the physiological ecology of sunfishes. Currently, she studies human anatomic variation, including palmar blood supply and coronary arterial branching. Her teaching experience has included faculty positions at Grove City College, Pepperdine University, and Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Hemric's main teaching appointments have been in the disciplines of human gross anatomy, developmental biology, neurobiology, and genetics.
