Biography

Dr. Saajan Bhakta joined our program in 2021 as the Director of Clinical & Health Outcomes Research and Associate Professor at the Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine and Kansas Health Science University. Additionally, he holds the role of Vice President of Mergers & Acquisition Integration at Galway Holdings, a company renowned for its expertise in financial services, technology, consulting, and data analytics. He has held roles in the corporate mergers and acquisitions space since 2015.

Saajan is a dedicated researcher with a strong focus on neuropsychology, particularly in understanding brain science across diverse cultures. His current research projects include the psychiatric implications of melanoma, the use of proton pump inhibitors in intensive care units, primary care experiences of Spanish speakers, and South Asian parenting and ADHD. He has contributed significantly to global public health studies in countries such as Peru, India, and Ethiopia, addressing complex health issues and expanding the understanding of mental health.

Having lived in, worked, or studied in over 25 countries, Saajan brings a unique global perspective to his work, enabling him to approach health challenges with cultural sensitivity and a deep understanding of regional nuances.

In 2010, Saajan founded PovSolve, a 501c3 nonprofit organization that raises funds and creates awareness for global human suffering. PovSolve has supported the construction of a school in rural Africa, provided medical services and food to thousands in India, and built water wells in Kenya. For his international work, Saajan was honored by President Barack Obama and named Volunteer of the Year for Kansas by Prudential.

In 2014, Saajan authored Be Your Own Hero, a book on mental health, resilience, and overcoming challenges. Through his academic work, research, and corporate roles, Saajan aims to empower individuals and communities worldwide
