Sarah Evans, PhD, faculty in biomedical sciences, has been working as a professor of biology at Newman University since 2014, teaching biochemistry, nutrition, general biology labs, and seminar courses, advising students, and participating in university service. Prior to that, she worked at Friends University for fifteen years as a professor of biology, teaching courses in both the biology and chemistry departments.
Throughout her teaching career, Dr. Evans has continued to do research with undergraduate students, focusing on gene regulation and protein expression in bacterial and fungal systems, as well as characterization of halophilic bacteria collected from local areas in Kansas and Oklahoma. She will be teaching biomedical sciences, focusing on biochemistry, at KansasCOM.
