- Biography
-
I am a former pre-med student turned anatomist and now I am an eternal "med student," teaching and learning with medical students! My passion is working with medical and health professions students and teaching anatomy in a variety of formats. I have extensive experience dissecting and working with cadaveric donors in the anatomy lab, and decided I wanted to improve my skills teaching anatomy without donors, which brought me to the amazing KHSC-KansasCOM!
I have many research interests, including those in anatomy education, and the broader medical education. In anatomy, I focus on laboratory teaching methodologies and resource development and efficacy. In medical education, I am interested in inclusive course practices and policies and in student wellness initiatives and policies, particularly as it relates to curriculum. I am currently pursuing work on suicide prevention trainings and policies in medical schools in the United States for my PhD work.
